Hubert Jourdain est né à Mashteuiatsh. Jeune, il aide au travail de la ferme. À l’âge de 12 ans, il accompagne son père pour une première chasse. Ils se rendent dans le secteur des fourches Manouane. Ils y trappent la martre, le castor, le rat-musqué et le loup-cervier. Plus tard, il travaille comme bûcheron, draveur, cultivateur et guide au Club Triton, en plus d’être trappeur.
HUBERT JOURDAIN (1917 – 1996)
Hubert Jourdain was born in Mashteuiatsh. When he was young he helped out on the farm. At the age of 12 he went on his first hunt with his father, travelling to the forks of the Manouane sector where they trapped marten, beaver, muskrat and lynx. Later on, he worked as a logger, log driver and farmer, in addition to acting as a guide at the Triton Club and trapping.
