Elizabeth Raphaël est née à Mashteuiatsh en 1916. Ses parents chassent dans le secteur du Lac à Jim. Pour couvrir la majeure partie du voyage et se rendre à leur territoire, ils font appel à Paul-Émile Gill qui possède une voiture et sauvent ainsi un temps important. Après son mariage, elle travaille principalement comme aide domestique dans plusieurs foyers à Saint-Thomas-Didyme.

Elizabeth Raphaël was born in Mashteuiatsh in 1916. Her parents hunted in the Lac à Jim sector. To reach their hunting territory they called on Paul-Émile Gill who had a car. This saved them a great deal of travel time. After she married, she worked mainly as a domestic helper in various households in Saint-Thomas-Didyme.
